On this page you will find various newsworthy clips, many of which are seldom covered by the mainstream corporate dominated media outlets. You will also find clips of entertainment value that will also induce critical thought. Most of the entertainment related clips will never be heard or seen on mainstream airwaves because they do not fit a specific "mold". When it comes to Hip Hop, for instance, mainstream outlets seem to be more interested in music that promotes images of senseless violence, sexism, self-destruction, and excessive materialism/consumerism.
Instead of providing equal access to artists/music that promote critical thought, self-empowerment, social activism, and civic engagement, they often marginalize those images. It works against the overall objectives, of most corporate dominated media outlets, to heighten the critical thinking skills of their audience. Critically astute folks make bad mindless consumers. After all, the more critically engaged you are the less chance they have of convincing you to excessively buy their corporate sponsors’ products.
